        Steve:

We have had Probot's Flying Probe Tester QC-2000 for the last 2+
years and are pleased with the machine. The tester is great for prototype
and small production runs. Machine is user friendly and requires low
maintenance. Netlist test data is generated from the customer's gerbers.
Testing does take much longer than other fixture testing and
initially we found them very slow but for fine pitch smt multilayers they
have worked out good for us.
However since the merger with Mania the service needs to be much
improved.

                Hi All!

Our company is looking at Flying Probe testers, and I told
our test engineer I would post to the list and ask ya'll if anyone has
experience and an opinion (good or bad), of some of the makes out there...

Our test engineer went and looked at two of them this past
week (Takaya and Spea), and between the two, he's leaning toward the Spea.
He said the reason he was leaning towards the Spea, is that you have to give
the Takaya a known good board first, and to him (and me), that kinda defeats
the whole concept about flying probe testers.

Any feedback anyone can share will be most kindly
appreciated
