Hi Brad,
You are technically absolutely correct.
However, copper foil is not sold by linear mile or any measure like it, it is
sold by weight. Thus, the foil manufacturers [blameless here, but not in
having created a Cu foil standard serving them much mre than their ultimate
customers] have no insentive to making thinner foils, but the laminators
do--they buy by the pound and sell by the square-foot--because it increases
their profits.
