For high rel boards, it has always been a recommendation that trace cuts
and additional holes drilled in boards be filled with epoxy. This is
because the solder mask and plating finish has been disturbed and may lead
to the very problems that the soider mask and plating finish are intended
to prevent. Overcoating cuts and holes with epoxy is a simple, convenient
way to recover that protection.

Hi all,

After cutting a trace, is it always necessary to add epoxy to fill the cut
mark left on a board?
If it is not filled, is there any risk of humidity infiltration that could
cause problems latter in the
field?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
