Typically I have only seen gold finish except one old legacy product. The customer also had internal layer connections to the press fits but was unable to change the PCB layout at all. They dealt with the jumper wires.
We never had an issue with the gold finish but as I remember the gold was thicker. Somewhere between a typical Au flash and a gold finger hard gold.
