Hi TechNet,
We have a customer who has raised concern regarding the use of "white
wires", and questions whether it is a reliable assembly technique. We of
course attempt to redesign a product as soon as feasible to eliminate the
need for "white wire repair", but like most in the industry, there is an
ongoing need to be able to utilize this repair/modification method. We have
many years experience with "white wires" and can show our field reliability
history. However, it would be very helpful to be able to supplement this
with industry studies that support the use of white wire techniques as
documented in IPC 7711 and IPC 7721 (or per Telcordia GR-78-CORE). If anyone
has these type of studies available, or knows where I can access them,
please contact me at [log in to unmask] As always the help of and
discussions on this forum are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
