Hi Peter! One additional area of concern to consider is the cleanliness
level of your boards and components. It has been a very common industry
mistake to focus on the elimination of cleaning solely based on flux
residues. Many folks have innocently not considered what other types of
residues/contaminates a cleaning process removes from a printed wiring
assembly. And if you think that your boards and components are super clean
coming in the door from the suppliers then be prepared for some pretty
scary test results (or just ask Doug Paul's for a couple of "Tales of
Horror" cases). Good Luck.

Subject: [TN] Noclean Wave soldering

Technet,

Is anyone currently adopting a no clean flux/ no post wash with their
Wave soldering process? We had a few wave soldered products requiring
post hand soldering due to non-washable components (filters,
transformers etc.)

In particular, I like to know what areas of concern you run into (eg.
Remaining Flux residues, conformal coating) and your feedback on the
overall cleanliness of the boards.

Rgds,
Peter
