Gregg,
Following on from some of the responses, I would recommend the use of
certain poly-glycols as stripping agents.
Most coating manufacturers have proprietary stripping chemistries, and you
would be well advised to use these according to the manufacturers
recommendations, rather than to mess around with ad hoc mixtures of your own
creation...unless you know what you are doing!
I am puzzled about David Douthit's remarks, because we have military and
automotive customers who have used our acrylics for the past 30 years with
no reported problems.
Note that there are now water based acrylics that feature the same
characteristics as the solvent based parents, so you might like to
investigate these?
