Dave,
Used to be +/-.015 for basic boards because some people were still punching boards from production panels (some still are for high-volume commercial/automotive applications).  Ahhh, the good old days...   You can get +/-.005 for many board designs (sometimes a little tighter); boards that are very long/wide may require a larger tolerance.  Scoring is not as accurate as CNC routing unless CNC equipment is used to perform scoring.  See link http://www.accusystemscorp.com/FAQ's%20-%20Index.htm for scoring data with section on tolerances.
Otherwise, completely agree with earlier suggestion to check with your vendor(s) for what they can do.
