Ah Peter,

You missed my most important point. I didn't muck it up putting it on.
That's much easier than with a PIII processor by the way. I am replacing the
crap Intel MB with my personal favorite Asus board thereby requiring the
removal and replacement of the heat sink and processor and its transplant to
the the new board. Once you pull the heat sink off, it is toast and is not
reusable unless a "fix" can be made and I'm going to do that come hell or
high water. If I can't, I have to buy a new sink and processor and that
sucks canal water.

I know exactly what Intel did and I know it can be duplicated. I'm going to
use some foil brass or copper shim stock to make the heat spreader but don't
know the best goop to use on both sides of it to effect maximum thermal
transfer. In other words, what thermal grease provides maximum transfer?

Earl
