Etching is definitely the best way to go for bare board serialization.
Of course that takes time.
If you can get away with Adhesive labels that's another method.

Subject: [TN] Bare Board serialization
Hi All,
We've always screened or scribed serial #'s on our bare boards (when
required).
I'm wondering how other shops accomplish this.
Also:
We're considering using an ink stamp instead.
Any suggestions for an air-dry ink that will survive the rigors of assembly?
Thanks,
Mark Hargreaves
