Dee, the obvious advantages to using the parameters you specify from a
designers point are obvious; packing. It's amazing how much space opens up
when you drop down from 8&8 to 5&5. It was said prior to my post, 5&5 is
pretty much routine and you should experience no price increase in board
costs. But here considering the high volume of boards, the relatively harsh
environment they "live" in, and the need to be nearly defect free, we use
5&5 only when necessary. We prescribe to the "only as small as needed" rule
and feel that a 12 mil line is going to "shake and bake" better than a 5 mil
line will.
