I agree with what Brian said.

I would be more concerned with the adherence of the coating to the plastic.
This can cause problems if the coating delaminates
from the plastic portion of the IC and exposes the leads.
The cleanliness of the ICs will have a direct effect on this issue
(primarily mold release agents, handling, repackaging, and storage).
