Brian,

Realizing you have not followed my postings on the CAF thing, I simply will
say I think you have to deal with both elimination and prevention. I think
you say a bit of that as well with your material selection and adding pads
presentation.

As for the pacemaker, one of our own wrote the following choosing, probably,
wisely not to post it to the forum for the reasons indicated? I think it
points to both elimination in the first place and prevention as the whole
assembly is sealed very well.

Earl,

To set the record straight - Yes, a pacemaker is sealed.

In fact, the electronics within the pacer are hermetically sealed (ala Mil
Std parts), then the whole system is welded within a titanium case, which is
also hermetically sealed. Ending up with a double seal against nasty
conductive body juices, in a warm, moist environment.

Just don't ever short out the battery!! Very high energy density! (ala 12
Ga w/00 shot at 6 ft). You would not have to worry about patching up the
hole it created! ... or ants 'formicing' your boards.

I had best not post this. I would get flamed for such a grizzly posting!

Have a good day!

Earl
