As board shops no longer, I hope, use "golden boards," they went to net list
extraction from Gerber data. All the information, dumb or otherwise without
ODB++, is there to program both flying probe testers (also used in
preliminary ICT) so some measure of defect finding can be accomplished.

I worked on a flying probe thing way back in - Jeez, I forgot now but even
tried goint to electron beams instead of probes. Wonder whatever happened to
that scheme? Also, did some of the first net list extraction from Gerber
back in, Jeez - oh yes - 1987 at Ahmdal. Ain't I wonderful, or not.

How time flies, eh?
