We've had very good success with Adapter Technologies in Perkasie, Pa.
Phone is 215 258 5750. They add a header to the BGA that gets plugged into a
surface-mount socket assembled to the board. The socket's body sizes match
the footprint of the actual BGA and allow swapping of BGAs.

They also offer assembly/rework/reballing services.

Folks,

Never having had a need to use BGA sockets of any type, I don't like of the
thought of a first time effort. Our company has an apparent need to do some
studies using easily replaceable BGA's and that is understandable. I have
two choices as either a BGA socket or one through hole.

The company selected so far is Andon. Any and all comments happily accepted.
