We use plexiglass mockups of our boards with backup pin locations marked on
them. There is a black front edge to trigger the optical sensors, and we
load it in like a standard board. We have holes drilled in it to allow
Allen wrenches through to tighten up the back up pins. Finally, when all
the marks are in place, we coat it with a conformal coating to protect all
of the markings. After a few tries, our team came up with all of the
locations, directions, etc. to place on the board, and with a few
suggestions from the machine operator, the end product has served us quite
well.

For our AP series stencil printer, we made a fixture in the shapes of our
common boards, and got magnetic back up pins. This saves money compared to
a dedicated fixture, and is a whole lot better than a universal vacuum box.

Good luck in your search.
