Patrick,

In our "system" the fuse clip, socket and jumper shunt would be separate items on the Bill of Materials.

The fuse clip and fuse are both parts in the schematic and come out as items with reference designators on the BOM.

The jumper and "shunt" are both parts in the schematic and come out as items with reference designators on the BOM.

The sockets are not part of the schematic and are listed by item number on the BOM and shown on the assembly print as a "balloon" item with the device numbers for the specific size (8 pin, 14 pin, 16 pin, etc.) next to the balloon.

I hope this helps.

Subject: [TN] Need help to handle component with accessory

Hi TechNetters,

I would like to know a way to handle components with accessories, like fuse with
fuse clips, IC's mount on sockets, jumper shunts used on headers. How can I get
the CAD output BOM to include both the component and the accessory? How to
handle different jumper options.

All suggestions will be appreciated.

Patrick
