Michael,
We use Garolite (G-10) material for our test bed fixtures. Unfortunately, I
have never done a study to see if can retain a static charge. I believe it
is similar to FR-4 used to make PC boards. It is available in large sheets
from McMaster-Carr.
We drill and place spring loaded contact probes (IDI, QA, Everett Charles)
for our test beds. Works quite well.

Subject: [TN] Test/Pin Jig Materials
Hi all,
I am just looking into the best material in which to make the main plate of
a pin bed test jig. I am wanting some insulative plastic, but I am a
little concerned over the static properties of most plastics/acrylics. Does
anyone have any idea on the best type of plastic/acrylic/urethane etc to use
in this application to minimise the static risk, or is there an anti-static
plastic about that I can purchase in large blocks for milling???
Cheers
Mike
