More apologies for another commercial plug . . .
Check out the ShortSniffer short circuit finder at www.testecvw.com to see
another method to locate shorts under ICs or on inner layers.

Hi Michelle,

If you are looking for inner layer shorts, there
is no need to de populate, Polar produces a low
cost instrument called toneohm 950 which ise designed
to locate inner layer shorts using non destructive techniques..

www.polarinstruments.com/products/toneohm/toneohm950.html

Apologies for a commercial post, but its the right tool for the job...

Kind regards
