Don't know where ya heard that! We have about 11 of the SP-200's (most about
3 years old) and I have never seen a tip to gnd reading over .3 ohm. We test
them every six months with a Weller soldering iron analyzer. Metcal's spec
is <2 ohms. My only gripe with the Metcals is the cost of tips vs. their
life expectancy.

We currently use older MX systems. My boss wants me to check out the SP200.
I have beeen told that they will not meet the 5 ohm tip to ground
requirement. Anybody got some input on these systems. I know the tip
selection is somewhat limited, no SMT removal tips yet. But any feedback is
welcome.
