Olivia,

We are very similar to what Graham does except that we use perfboard for the
spray table on our lazy Susan. Each one is about 2' X 2' and we use them to
move the assemblies from the spray booth to the drying cabinet. It's
something we've done for 30+ years and seems to work good. I've never done a
study but I assume that the holes in the perfboard make for better airflow
than a solid piece. We use them for a long time before replacing.

Hope this helps,

Hi Olivia
We hand spray our boards. Volumes aren't high enough to justify masking
"boots" or covers, so we use tape and a latex masking material.

When spraying the board it sits on a turntable fixture (to allow it to be
easily rotated for a change in angle). The fixture, and most of the bottom
of the spray booth, is covered in aluminum foil. When finished the operator
replaces the foil.

Hope that helps.

Hi,
When applying conformal coating, on what type of surface is the PCB placed?
How is this surface maintained, or is it a disposable surface changed for
every application?
Are templates a good idea for masking off boards? If so how are they
maintained or cleaned.
Thanks in advance for any help.
