you really got some nice bibliography here.
Now, if you were to assess your situation, you'll realize that what you need
is not exactly a DOE, but some sort of pseudo-DOE. Real DOE means
experimenting when you have several variables. In your case there's only one
parameter that changes, paste and no paste. All the rest is the same. So you
don't really need matrices, tables, etc.
You just want to rework a batch with solder paste and another without it.
What should be the batch sizes? Of course the bigger, the better, probably 6
to 10 boards.
Then, what will you inspect? Here you need to establish your own criteria,
depending on what you are after.
