We use imbedded passive elements (inductors) on our product. The geometries
of these features are critical to their value. I specifically state in the
fabrication notes that we do not compensate for etch factor, and the
finished PCB component side conductor must be dimensionally within +/- 10%
of the source data. In addition I show specific features of the PCB which
need tighter tolerances on the fab drawing. So far none of our vendors have
had a problem with this.

The consensus around here was not to do compensation on our files. The logic
goes like this; we don't build pcb's so it is not our area of core
competency i.e. let the experts do what they do best and stick with what we
know best.

Hope you find this info useful,
Dan
