Hi James,

Start listing all your assumptions regarding materials (parts, solder, flux)
, machines, people (man) training, and the process. What's the same and
what's different between the two setups? You've already clearly stated the
problem - one solder pot is giving you wetting trouble while another isn't.
It doesn't sound like the solder is the culprit since the analysis shows
them to be very similar.

The first time I got called down to solve a solder problem it turned out to
be the flux - 15 years past it's expiration date. RMA flux the color of a
good stout. The new guy on the line couldn't figure out why the boards
weren't soldering.

Forgot to say that we are the manufacturer of Multilayer Chip Capacitors
and we do this operation all the time. We tried solder coating the parts
in both pots using the same flux and got different results
