HI Olivia! The quantity of blowholes you consider to be acceptable would
depend heavily on the use environment where that assembly is going to
reside. For example, I would be less concern with blowholes on an assembly
which was going into an office use environment in comparison to an avionics
equipment bay environment. However, you should be asking one important
question - why are you getting all of these blowholes? Are the blowholes a
sign of a bigger problem such a poor plated thru hole plating integrity?
Blowholes should be a random, isolated, occasional issue and not something
you typically observe. Good Luck.

Hi All, Busy today,
Blow holes/pin holes, according to table 6-2 in IPC-A-610C are accpetable
as
long as circumferential wetting on secondary side is 270 degrees for class
2
and 330 degrees for class 3. What quantity of blow holes does that cover on
one assembly? If it were all over the PCB randomly every board, would it
still be acceptable?
