For Dave, I think ISO 9000's requirement 7.3 provides OPPORTUNITY for this
assurance from a design standpoint. The rest of ISO both demands and
supports this be done.
For Ed, I repeat the same as above. Also, my experience being a manager and
not, is that management expects fast results based on assignments but
instead of hurrying to report THEM, it much prefers announcing a good bottom
line based upon and reflecting THEM. Again, anything can be taken to
extremes and, again, not defending ISO 9000 but for the possibilities it
offers - it provides the OPPORTUNITY for improvement. Management, if wise
enough, can turn the opportunity into reality with both good employee/team
and bottom line results.
