I teach the J-STD Soldering class and have my personal opinion on homework.
I am not paid enough to grade it on my time, therefore students are not paid
enough to do it on there time. If homework looks to be essential I also
revise my class to complete all assignments during normal working hours. (I
also teach shift workers-12 hour shifts!)

I would like to know how other Instructors handle homework. Do you
include this time in part of your hours for the course or do you have
them do it at home. In these economic times I am looking for ideas on
how to cut overtime costs. I taught the class last week and my
management was not to happy about sending them home with homework. How
do other company's handle the pay for the homework? Do you pay them if
so at what rate.
