I guess I knew this was for mil stuff what with some of your other postings
and your email address and company name. I've pretty much said my piece but
for having knowledge that some of your mil guys and gals have evolved from
CIC to copper/moly/copper in about the same ratios of about two 10 mil
copper sheets brazed on each side of the moly. Does the same thing and the
processing requirements are about the same.

Never worked with the Silicon Carbide Aluminum stuff but bet it has its
issues as processing and cost. Certainly would be thermally "stiff." I
haven't done or seen Kevlar in a long time but it was very effective as well
and had its share of problems as well (fiber pull during drilling and worn
out drill bits too quickly).

I posted images, on Steve's site months back, concerning my most recent FA
hunt for GaAs MMIC amplifiers. The flanges on them were CMC and lots of fun
to cut and polish for x-sectioning and other analytical techniques.
