At one of my clients, we are assembling 3.2" x 6.0", 48-up (1.0" x 0.3"
boards), .031" thick. The ideal web thickness we use is .008" with upper and
lower V-groove alignment within .005". Components are very close to the
edge, and we use a single-reflow process. If we go above .010" web
thickness, we get either cracked components or cracked solder joints when we
break away the boards, and the boards are harder to separate. To date, well
over one million of this product has been produced.
