So much confusion over the specification issue. As DSCC explained to me the
"govt" cannot require any specific specification to be referenced on a
drawing. Each customer is free to use whatever specification or standard
will give them the degree of reliability they determine they need.
Our lab continues to qualify board houses - new and requals - to 55110. We
at this point have only one customer who is on the 31032 listing - their
monthly tests are performed to both 55110 AND 6012.
If someone is interested in becoming qualified to produce product for the
govt, I would recommend that you talk to one of the test labs. All of us
have the appropriate forms needed and can walk you through the process. DSCC
has a listing or the IPC membership list gives contacts at each of the labs.
