My GaAs experience, to this point, is but a memory. It is behind me as it is
overshadowed by current events, but what learning experience. I worked with
some of the finest people at two of the best independent test labs even
though within MACom and Northrup Grumman. Together with Toshiba, the GaAs
FET MMIC component supplier, we came up with many factors and one possible
failure mode for our circuitry. JK knows, and new when I started this thing,
circuit protection was suspect. This turned out to be so.

If any of you who helped me in the beginning of the "ugly picture" mode, I
will supply a complete chronicle of events, tests, analysis, and findings
concerning this unusual undertaking - for me and a number of industry
experts. Seems no one, but JK, had a clue. Enough of that for now but to
repeat: If you want to know what we think happened, let me know or I won't
take up more forum time and space.

As for my future, I may have found a way to participate in the "war" that
has been declared, or not, against terrorism in general and possible
specific targets. As I cannot go back into the Corps, I will be working on
new warhead fuse designs, their safety and reliability requirements, and
other associated elements and requirements.

My heart and guts are heavy, as are all of yours. Can't shake this
one. Never will. Simply, I know we'll all pull together in this long
offensive. I just got to get involved and this is the only way I know.

Steve, I thank you for your help as well. Hope you got back to work ok.

I don't know where our good friend Kelly is now but I'm looking forward to
seeing from him again on this forum. That goes for the rest of you defense
oriented folks.

or now, my focus is on circuitry as UNUSUAL. Going to make some bombs. As
disguisting and sad as that seems, it seems the right thing to do at this
time. May we all pull together in any way we can to help "civilization"
survive.
