A qualified yes. However, you will need to ensure full synergistic
compatibility with all the process materials involved - this includes solder
resist, flux, paste, wire, adhesives, etc..

Be aware that there are new draft IEC / ANSI spec's in preparation that will
set the full test parameters, and I am a member of that committee. To my
knowledge, we are the only folks to have tested to these more stringent
requirements / test parameters. You need to properly mimic the entire
manufacturing process with suitable coupons to your intended end-product
then SIR test at 25v/mm with coupons of 400 / 200 micron - unless its has
already been done for you!

I cannot surely be flamed for asking you to look at my web site for further
info? Link below...

For more, ask me off-TechNet.

Subject: [TN] Ionics again.

Hi everyone,
Can a no-clean process achieve ionic contamination <1.5ug cmsq according to
IPC TM-650 2.3.25 and a surface resistance > 5 X 10 (power of 8) according
to IPC TM-650.2.6.3.3?
If you believe it can be achieved, how?
How could you confirm it as an ongoing process control?
