I used to design backplanes and the companies we used at the time were:

1.      Signum circuits in Scotland (UK).
2.      OPC in China
3.      Ruwel in Germany
4.      Via Systems in Holland (used to be Momers Print Services)
5.      PPC in Switzerland

They have manufactured boards 950mm x 460mm and thickness up to 10mm+.

With regards to copper weight I do not know their capabilities.

Years ago (nearly 20) we used a Danish company called Printca to produce a
thick (>0.25") 20 layer backplane for us. They were pretty leading edge at
the time, as was the board. They still claim to be leading edge and you can
