Hello all,

I'd like to announce that the formation of a new chapter of the Designers
Council has occurred in New Zealand. It had a great start with a high
turnout for it's kickoff meeting on August 24th and hosted at Tait
Electronics.

Invited guests were myself, Jim Yohe, who made the standard presentation for
this kind of meeting. History, objectives, benefits, meeting structure,
fund raising, and other general information were supplemented by suggestions
and experiences seen as founder and President of the Pacific Northwest
Chapter.

Also helping, all the way from Adelaide Australia, was Lyn Dayman,
Administrator of the Australian Chapter. She talked about national
administration, the need for at least one more Certified IPC Instructor (to
be based in NZ), and NZ government support programs. She did a great job
with her material, presentation, and professionalism.

We had about 14 people who raised their hands to indicate an interest in the
chapter's formation after the presentation and then 5 who volunteered to
form the "core" group. The balance of the this chapter's planning will be
done by Dave Elder, Murray Hall, Tim Harris, Lida VanGreunen, and Richard
Moffet. Another person, Liam Purcell, from Dynamic Controls may be
involved, as well.

Any questions or congratulatory comments should be addressed to Dave Elder
by email at: [log in to unmask] .
