Hi Nancy,

Answers:

1. Markings mostly on the barrier bag only.
2. Labelling usually on both barrier bag and component carrier packaging
(tube, tape, etc.)

Question:

What's the battle about? Can we join in?

Comment:

It would be good if the moisture information could be included on the
trays, etc., that the components are packed in as well as on the barrier
bags. Often the barrier bag is disposed of when the components are first
used and the remainder stored in a low humidity cabinet, as we don't have
equipment for adequately re-sealing the bags.

Regards

Pete Duncan

Please forgive the idiotic sounding questions below, but I am losing a
battle and need some new ammunition.... If all you folks who work in board
assembly could give me a few quick yes or no answers, I would be quite
grateful. Any of my fellow component manufacturers' comments are also
welcome. Just 2 multiple choice questions...

Regarding Moisture Sensitive components that are shipped to you in dry-pack
bags....

1. Is the moisture sensitivity-related labeling info (MSL, Bag Seal Date,
Floor Life) found on...
     a) Moisture Barrier Bag only?
     b) Unit container (reel, tube, etc...) only?
     c) Both bag and reel?

2. Is the component/customer specific labeling info (Customer part number,
PO number, etc...) found on...
     a) Moisture Barrier Bag only?
     b) Unit container (reel, tube, etc...) only?
     c) Both bag and reel?

Thanks in advance for any answers you might have.
Nancy Reynolds
