I dont believe I'd want to reuse any ceramic part that has fallen off a
tabletop, nor a crystal oscillator, or resonator, nor certain MOVs....
there's likely others. Trying to differentiate between what can be reused
if it falls on the floor (or table, for that matter, in the case of
crystals and
oscillators) and what cannot, is just going to confuse the assemblers.

With all due respect, I dont believe that the pressure of missing deadlines
justifies cutting corners with a customers shipments. I am also
certain, that given a board of any significant complexity, that there
is NO way that board level final visual inspection, can guarantee
proper orientation of SMT components (or any OTHER type of
component, for that matter) on an ongoing basis (wouldn't it be nice
though!)....regardless of training, motivation, experience and best
efforts!

I'd route the board to repair techs, and let the trained rework/repair/
test loop fix the module with a new part.

My .02, and worth every penny!
John
