Hi,
You are right, the problem was not soldering technology, but a lousy design
and a bad material choice [CEM-1]. Unfortunately, the industry has not
learned from past experience, and it is lousy designs that keep me in
business.
...and it is not so much the higher temperatures but the larger delta-T's
that are the problem.
