Haim,

I am sorry to say that I do not have copies of the specifications I can get
my hands on to quote to you on this subject. I come from the production
side of the street.

The jest of what has worked for my past life is that there is a
specification for the tape and reel of various types of components, axial,
small radial, large radial, etc. The general rule for them is that there
shall be no more than 3 sequencial empty spaces (missing parts) in a
continuous reel of parts. There also is a leading and trailing length
specification in there.

This leads to no specification for splicing but does allow for it by the
other called out specifications. So, if you splice and the result is that
there is no more than 3 sequencial empty spaces at any one place, then it
should be OK.

Someone out there may have the specs available to call out some sample
numbers (something along the line of ANSI 243 if memory serves me). Sorry,
I just don't have a good library in my temporary working quarters, aka home!

Good luck and I hope this helps.

Richard
