hi,

you need to be careful. the circuit board may be over etched. if that's the case, there could be considerable gold overhang on the 'gold tabs'. this overhang can break off causing gold slivers (ie fine threads of gold on nickel). you can imagine what problems this would cause.

Subject: [TN] Gold tab width

Hi, all technetters
I am facing with very emergent situation.
According to the IPC-600F, 3.2.2 Print & Etch, conductor width indicates
the below part of conductor.
The thing that I would like to and should know is it can be applied to the
gold tab?
I think the right way to measure the gold tab width is to measure the upper
part. just because actual contact part is the upper part in the gold tab.
If there is anyone who can give me instructions, It will be deeply helpful
for me.
