I write to invite other Technetter's opinions and comments.

On a "non audited basis" I seem to be seeing an increase in the number of
responses concluding in an invitation "to contact me off line". I feel a
little discomfort about some of these.

The essence of this, as any other, forum is a free interchange of ideas and
information. We all benefit from expertise freely offered and discussed
here. I appreciate that at some point the discussion becomes commercial or
too particular or specific to be of continuing general interest, and
'netters can of course talk to whom ever they wish about whatever they wish
outside the forum. Some recent posts however could be interpreted as being
designed to want to go offline immediately rather than offer information
openly, if this were to be the case then it degrades the forum.

Perhaps I am being a little over sensitive? Is there any guidance in this
area?
