Depends on a few things -

1. Does your system (we have ISO-9002) allow this as part of the normal
production cycle, if required? We specifically wrote this in to our
system to allow certain items to be treated as part of the production
cycle.

2. When was the defect noticed? Incoming, In-Process, Final, or a Return
        We treat Incoming and In-process as an MRB action - which
        our system allows rework. (Class 1 & 2 Should be documented,
        Class 3 must be documented.)

        Final Inspection or Customer Return = Defect = Repair (must be
documented).

Another item to consider - how much is it lifted? Less than 1 pad
thickness = Process Indicator.
