Have you got a finger?
Wet it and stick it in the air, see which way the wind is blowing. (a
technique used by an engineer that I know!!)
Or use the Ultracad calculator previously mentioned..
Its very useful, and covers most situations.

It also takes the hassle out of working out them there things called "sums"
!!
