Hi There,

Pd was first proposed as an alternative to acid hard gold. The argument was
that at the time it was approx 1/2 the gold price and coincidentally about
30% less in density (ie more micron per unit mass).
The origional claims about equivalent electrical contact resistance proved
unfounded and the compromise of high Pd plus flash gold came up.

I imagain you are looking for bonding properties wherein I would argue
electroless, pure gold would be much better than Pd. Incidentally Pd is now
2.5 X the price of PD!!!
