We typically use a thickened Urelane coating as a bonding agent around
connectors to prevent this, the products we use are Urelane 5753A/B with
5753TX added as a thickener. This has worked very well for us, we spray
with either Urelane 5750 or Humiseal 1B31, the bonding works with both.
We also use this to bond parts or jumper wires to boards with good
success.
