Hey Pete!

Like I said, check it out if you want a chuckle! But I must defend my shirt!
I don't think anyone realizes the bodies I had to claw my way through during
that "K-Mart Blue Light Special" to get my hands on that shirt!! I suppose
it's only meaningful to me...oh well. You get's your thrills when you can
here in Tulsa, Oklahoma...

Yes, the background is of fonder times. I loved being a part of the safety
crew as a "Turn worker" at Laguna Seca and Sears Point Raceway for the
National AMA races, and for the FIM at the World Superbike races that were
held in California. I even road a "rice rocket" for a while...a Suzuki
Katana...had to leave it behind when I came out to Tulsa...(my mom and the
rest of my family were glad!! I miss it though...)

The aircraft in the background represents a big part of my life. I flew as a
flight engineer on P-3 Orions (subhunters) for over 12-years, over 5,100
hours in the air. Hours and hours of sheer boredom, interspersed by moments
of stark terror...I can relate to the chaos that the EP-3E crew
experienced...the C-130 Spectre picture above that is there because we build
a system that goes on that aircraft. The picture just above my left shoulder
is a certificate I recieved from some things we had done during STS-1, the
first space shuttle launch (you can tell it's STS-1 because if you look real
close, the external fuel tank is painted white, the only one that was
painted, then they realized they could get a couple of hundred pounds more
payload if the paint was eliminated since the tank is a throw-away
anyway)...I was with PMTC then (Pacific Missile Test Center)...that's a
certificate I'm proud of...

As far as the expression when sitting down on something "blunt and hard"...I
have no idea about what you mean...you seem to have more of an insite about
that than I do...hehehe.

-Steve Gregory-

<< Great picture, Steve! Very brave of you to post it! And just where can I
avoid getting a shirt like that, hehehe? Interesting background of
motorcycles and old planes, too, and are you sure the glazed look is lack
of caffeine? I once saw the same expression on someone who had sat down
rather heavily on a hard, blunt object (which I won't specify, as it brings
tears to a glass eye just thinking about it).

 Good on yer.
