All clean silver can tarnish, if there are airborne sulfides (e.g.
pollution from burning fossil fuels which have not been 100%
desulfidised, cooking eggs, etc.) present, especially at high
temperatures and humidities. There is no way of stopping it, although
the effect may be inhibited by a number of ways. A light tarnish should
not affect the quality, depending on the activity of the soldering flux.
If it solders OK, you will have no problem, even with most contacts
(silver sulfide is a conductor).
