We too have recently completed this same conversion and it too has been well
received. Question regarding water quality - do you monitor the water with a
resistivity meter? We change our media when the reading hits .5 meg-ohm/cm.
What limit do you use? I have been surprised how quickly the beds get spent
(we have one carbon and two mixed beds, each one is 1.25 cu.ft.) I am only
getting about a month out of a changeover. We are processing about 1,400
sq.ft. of board area in this time frame (paste reflow and rework, no
wavesolder)-not exactly a real heavy load. We use about 150 gallons of
make-up water per day. Do you pre-treat your make-up water with anything? I
would be interested in hearing your experience with bed life.

Thanks.

We recently went through the process of changing from a solvent based board
washing system to a closed loop aqueous clean batch system.

The main reason for going to a closed loop system was to eliminate the need
for water to go into the waste stream. It also meant we didn't have to play
with chemicals.

Although it caused some discussions initially it has been well received.
