Hi, Jason,

I was asking about exactly this a couple of years back when my last company
bought Parametric Technologies' "Pro-Engineer" 3-D modelling software for
the Drawing office. It has a huge database at the back of it for various
purposes, and I hoped that PT would have had the foresight to provide this
feature. Not quite! Although what you're after isn't available "out the
box", I was assured that it's possible to get the system to locate circuit
references on a layout view if you type in what you were looking for.

Now all you have to do is convert your drawing office to Pro-E (if you
haven't already), and pursuade PT to build in this feature. Sorry, but
that's the nearest I can get.

Hello all,
Does anyone know of any software that eliminates the tedious process of two
people sitting down with a blueprint, a built board and manually checking
component values. Maybe something like typing in a ref des. and it goes to
the component and shows value on a monitor. Replies are appreciated.
