                  Ohmega Planar Resistor Technology

The Greater Boston Chapter of the IPC Designer's Council will
hold its next meeting on Tuesday, April 27th at the Best
Western TLC Hotel in Waltham at 6pm.

        Topic and Speaker:

Bruce Mahler, Vice President of Ohmega Technologies Inc, will
present a talk on planar (buried) resistors and their benefits
in today's space and performance constrained world. While BC
capacitance has been well discussed in our group, this mature
technology represents the next step for reducing attached part
count and complexity. In use for over 20 years, Ohmega resis-
tor technology claims cost benefits when replacing soldered
components at as few as 3 or 4 resistors per board square inch.

        Agenda:

Please note there is a $15 meeting fee for members, $20 for
non-members. Pizza/soft drinks will be served.

        6:00 Arrivals and Pizza
        6:45 Chapter Business
7:00 Bruce Mahler, Ohmega Technologies: Planar Resistors

        Location/Directions:

The Best Western TLC Hotel in Waltham is located at exit 27A
off route 95/128, proceed east on Totten Pond Rd and the hotel
        is on the left.

        RSVP's requested:

Please RSVP by sending an email to [log in to unmask] with
the subject "RSVP IPC/DC" or phone Judy Horn at 781 942 7471
by Monday 12pm, April 23rd. Please treat an RSVP as a commit-
ment to attend as the food order is based on this.

        President's Note:

At last we've been able to pull together another meeting. We
hope to have another meeting or two this season, and have many
worthwhile topics yet to explore. But the group needs help, we
hope that some volunteers can step forward to keep current ac-
tivities in place and to expand the services this council could
provide. Please consider joining the Steering Committee, which
meets on the 2nd Monday of every month at Victoria Station res-
        taurant in Burlington MA.

        Mission:

Design is not called "do" for a reason. Done properly, the
design process is a creative problem solving discipline. To
address the packaging needs of electronics for today and to-
morrow, the physical designer needs an avenue to get exposed
and familiar with many different techniques and technologies.

The Greater Boston Chapter of the IPC Designer's Council is
committed to presenting stake holders from every aspect of the
packaging realm. Our hope is to help you gain insight and un-
derstanding of the many possibilities in solving core problems.

Your attendance, help and participation are most welcome.

        Thanks and regards,
--
