Hi Werner,
Per my Machinery's Handbook, stainless steel is listed in many grades but
the liquidous melting points are listed 2550 - 2800 F (1399 - 1538 C). Cast
steel is listed at 2640 F (1449 C). If you have a specific grade of steel
let me know and I'll look it up. Hope this helps.
